Kpt. Alfred Szota ps. „Krzak“
“I’ve been a courier and then link in AK. I’ve been connected with Grodno, Belarus a lot. I travelled by train with important, secret information to Grodno. Train has stopped 7 kilometres from the city. Then I’ve walked to the it’s cementery where I’ve met up with certain person at agreed day and time. When we’ve met up our code was: “He’s lost”, he said. I’ve replied: “I will find it and sew it up”. Then he said his nick “Strzała” – Arrow and I’ve said mine “Krzak” – Bush. We’ve linked up to pass on an important information. I’ve been involved in diversion against Soviets. They’ve arrested me on 7th August 1948. They’ve beat me up a bit during an investigation. Then few days later they’ve beat me up even more. I didn’t give them what they wanted. I’ve been sentenced for 25 years in prison.”
