Ppłk Stanisława Kociełowicz ps. „Iskierka“
“I was 14 years old scout when AK soldiers were attacking Belmont in Vilnius. It was during the military operation of “Ostra Brama”. 7,000 AK soldiers stood up to 15,000 Germans. A lot of injured and dead on our side. We’ve had two hospitals in that area. We were looking after injured soldiers over there. Injured were also kept in the big rooms in few surrounding houses. We, young scouts were helping nurses and doctors with their work. We could only assist them because of our really young age.”
